Kids Play Dates. Babysitting Co-op. Babysitters Exchange.
We are moms who love bringing our kids together for playdates. HiveMoms babysitting co-op(s) are created by moms for moms. Play dates for kids are an easy and trust-building option for parents to see if their families mesh well enough to exchange babysitting. Once moms and parents participating in babysitting co-ops get to know each other through play dates, we start to actively exchange babysitting on a points system. Our babysitting moms exchange further develops out of these first play dates.
A babysitters/babysitting co op is easy to participate in through exchanging points. Most of us trade two points per hour, with one additional point for each additional child - when I sit for someone, I earn points which I can use or exchange when one of my co-op buddies takes her turn to be my babysitter. The kids babysitting can be at their homes or mine, so it's pretty flexible.
Moms babysitting for moms: it makes sense, doesn't it? After all, what mom doesn't need more friends and babysitters? Especially, these days, when it can be so hard to find babysitters you can rely on.
It takes a village to raise a child. Let's get together with nearby moms to see if we can help each other with the occasional child care. Call it a babysitting co-op or a childcare co-op - that doesn't matter. The point is: It's all about give-and-take, and it's that spirit that builds a great community for moms, kids and families in the neighborhood.
